In the investigation into Mustafa Kemal Kayış, who was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a car in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district, the 'suicide' scenario was debunked. The suspect, who was determined to have been alone with Kayış in the vehicle at the time of the incident and claimed 'I got scared and ran away,' was arrested and sent to prison after the police identified a 'debt-credit' relationship.
In the Beylikdüzü district of Istanbul, one of the three suspects detained in connection with the death of Mustafa Kemal Kayış, whose body was found with a gunshot wound to the head on the back seat of a parked car, has been arrested.
FOUND WITH A GUNSHOT TO THE HEAD
In the incident that occurred on May 2 on Kışla Street, Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood, when Mustafa Kemal Kayış's friends arrived at the car, they found Kayış shot in the head and motionless. Upon their report, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that Kemal Kayış had lost his life. At the scene, one unlicensed 7.65 mm pistol and one bullet were found.
THEY SAID IT WAS SUICIDE, BUT...
In the investigations launched by the Homicide Bureau teams following the incident, three individuals determined to have been present in the car where the body was found were taken into custody. The suspects, questioned at the Public Order Branch Directorate, claimed that Kayış shot himself and ended his life.
It was learned that the suspects stated they stopped at a place while driving together, and two people went to a market for shopping. It was determined that during the incident, Mustafa Kemal Kayış and the suspect K.B. were alone in the car, and the incident occurred at that time.
HE HAD DEBTS TO THOSE IN THE CAR
In his statement to the police, suspect K.B. reportedly said, “I was sitting in the front of the car. He was in the back. Suddenly a gun went off. When I realized he had committed suicide, I got scared, got out of the car, and ran away.” In their investigation, police determined that Mustafa Kemal Kayış had some debts to the individuals in the car. After their procedures at the Public Order Branch Directorate were completed, the suspects were referred to the courthouse. Two of the suspects were released under judicial control, while suspect K.B. was arrested by the court on charges of 'premeditated murder' and sent to prison.
