Following the call for elections by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, a similar call came from İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu. Dervişoğlu stated, "Turkey is being mismanaged, in fact, Turkey cannot be managed. Therefore, Turkey needs an election."

After the CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, a call for elections also came from the IYI Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu.

“TURKEY IS UNMANAGEABLE; TURKEY NEEDS AN ELECTION”

Responding to a journalist's question after his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which asked, "A call for a snap election has come from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. What do you think of this formula?" Dervişoğlu said, “Turkey is being mismanaged, in fact, Turkey is unmanageable. Therefore, Turkey needs an election.”

Dervişoğlu stated: "A constitutional definition is, in fact, a situation that needs to be examined in detail. It is not only about the vacant mayoralties but also about vacant parliamentary seats. They are separate formulas... Implementing processes like completing this to 15% and so on may be an expectation, but its correctness is a matter of debate. I look at it from this perspective, Turkey is being mismanaged, in fact, Turkey is unmanageable. Therefore, Turkey needs an election. This election environment needs to be constructed with common sense. Turkey needs to be saved from this tension, this polarization. The state institutions, even the establishments that make the state a state, need to be removed from being the apparatus of politics.”

IYI Party Leader Dervişoğlu

“TURKEY IS NO LONGER IN A POSITION TO ENDURE THIS GOVERNMENT AND THE SYSTEM IMPOSED BY THIS GOVERNMENT”

Expressing that the root of all the issues on the agenda lies in the malfunctioning of state institutions, Dervişoğlu said, “All these events are the results of a period where there is a concern of a state that has become a party or a party that has become a state. Turkey generally needs an election. Turkey is no longer in a position to endure this government and the system imposed by this government,” he stated.

WHAT DID ÖZEL SAY?

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that he would visit TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş in the coming days regarding the agenda of a snap election. Özel stated, “We will also have a very ambitious move. We are in the days when the constitution mandates a snap election.” In response to journalists' question, “What do you mean?” he replied, “We will announce that day.” Özel also stated that all steps would be taken to bring the election ballot box.

Özel used the following expressions: "We will do everything to bring the general election ballot box. If it doesn't happen, I will request a meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly in the coming days. We will somehow bring a ballot box in front of this nation. We will take all risks. Come on in. If I lose to the AK Party in places where the CHP has previously won, I will resign again. You bring the general election ballot box in May or June; anyone who does not bring all the local election ballot boxes alongside it is a coward. (The agenda of the meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly) is aimed at the snap election. We are in the days when the constitution mandates a snap election. The Speaker of the Assembly also has a stance to take regarding the snap election. We will also do our part in this matter." he said.
