Roman journalist Mattioli explained the dismissal process of Fenerbahçe's head coach Jose Mourinho from the Italian team and the events that took place.

PLAYING STYLE WAS NOT APPRECIATED

Mattioli stated, "Friedkins (the owner of Roma) wanted to dismiss him even then, but Sporting Director Tiago Pinto opposed it. In the last months, Roma was very poor. Terrible defense, barren attack, and very stagnant. The team hardly moved on the field. Scoring a goal became an impossible task. They had no spirit. The media and fans started to complain about Mourinho," he said.

HE RECEIVED HIS COMPENSATION

Mattioli finally mentioned, "Mourinho continued to be loved by the majority of the fans, and for this reason, the Roma owners faced heavy criticism for dismissing him out of the blue. Roma paid Mourinho's salary until the end of the season when his contract with the club expired," he stated.
