Green Park Hotel, located in Kartepe, one of Kocaeli's important winter tourism centers, will not be able to open its doors this season either because 33 identified critical safety deficiencies have not been remedied. It was captured on camera that water is leaking from the walls of the giant hotel, which once hosted thousands of tourists, that its ceilings have collapsed, and that the facility has turned into a ruin. It was alleged that operator Adil Üstündağ left the hotel, saying, "There is no good left for me here anymore."

The latest condition of Green Park Hotel, which was one of the important winter tourism destinations in the Kartepe district of Kocaeli for years, drew attention. It was stated that the hotel, where security deficiencies were detected after inspections of tourism facilities were increased following the deadly hotel fire in Bolu Kartalkaya, had been closed for a long time. It was reported that the giant facility, viewed on site by Kocaeli Gündem, had suffered serious damage due to neglect.
