Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu made the decision to resign from the CHP. Along with Mayor Topaloğlu, 8 more council members left the CHP. Announcing his resignation decision with his post on his social media account that began with 'My dear fellow citizens,' Mayor Topaloğlu used the following statements:
"As a result of our evaluations, together with our 8 municipal council members, we have decided to resign from membership in the Republican People's Party and continue our duties independently. This decision does not change the responsibility we bear toward Kemer and you. I thank all our friends with whom we have walked together for their efforts, and I respect the friendships we have established and the efforts we have shared to date. We will continue to work to fulfill the mayoralty and council membership duties you entrusted to us in the best possible way. We will stand by every effort that benefits Kemer and act by considering the needs of our people and our common future. We stand behind the promises we made. We will continue on our way with the same diligence and sincerity to be worthy of your trust and to serve Kemer."
