The body of Kenan Işık, who passed away in a private hospital in Istanbul, was handed over to his family who came to the hospital. Today, a ceremony will be held at Atatürk Cultural Center at 11.00 for Kenan Işık.
Actor and presenter Kenan Işık, who suffered a brain hemorrhage after a fall on March 21, 2014, has been in a coma for 10 years. The 76-year-old Işık, who has been undergoing treatment for many years, passed away yesterday. Kenan Işık's body was handed over to his family who came to the hospital in the morning.
WILL BE BURIED IN ANKARA
Kenan Işık will be buried in Karşıyaka Cemetery after the funeral prayer to be performed at Ankara Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque on Wednesday, July 31, following the ceremony to be held at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) at 11:00.
HE HAD A BRAIN HEMORRHAGE AFTER HITTING HIS HEAD
Master actor, presenter, and voice actor Kenan Işık hit his head and was taken to the hospital after losing his balance after a workout on March 21, 2014. Işık, who was found to have a brain hemorrhage, underwent a 4-hour surgery. Işık, who fell into a coma after the operation, had been receiving treatment at home in Germany for 10 years.
WHO IS KENAN IŞIK?
His full name is Yusuf Kenan Işık, born on October 1, 1947, in Yeşilyurt, Malatya. Işık, who started acting in school theater during his secondary education, joined Meydan Sahnesi in Ankara where he went for high school education. After graduating from high school, Işık started studying Public Administration at Gazi University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and never gave up theater during his student years. In 1972, he became a State Theater artist.
HE SERVED AS GENERAL ART DIRECTOR AND SCREENWRITER
In addition to theater acting in his artistic career, the master also served as the general art director and screenwriter of city theaters and also played roles in various TV series. The famous actor also worked as a journalist for a period of time and worked for Resmi Gazete (1973-1995), Yeni Yüzyıl (1995-1998), Resmi Gazete again (1998-2000), Yeni Binyıl (2000), and Akşam (2000-2002) newspapers. He also hosted Star News from April 4, 2005, to August 20, 2005. The job that Kenan Işık became identified with in everyone's eyes was the game show called "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" which remained the same in content although its name changed over time.
