CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu announced that, alleging that Özgür Özel and former party administrators had transferred a donation of 5 million 100 thousand TL from the CHP coffers to the New Party before leaving, a warning had been issued for the return of the money, and that they would file a criminal complaint if payment was not made.
CHP Chairperson Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made striking claims about the political agenda at a breakfast meeting with journalists. Kılıçdaroğlu alleged that New Party Chairperson Özgür Özel and former party executives accompanying him transferred 5,100,000 TL from the party's coffers to the New Party under the guise of a donation before leaving CHP, and announced that an official warning had been sent demanding the return of the money.
"IT IS NEITHER MORAL NOR RIGHT" Stating that the party's bank account had been liquidated, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that the transaction was unethical. Drawing attention to the legal dimension of the process in his statement, Kılıçdaroğlu used the following expressions: "They have liquidated CHP's bank account. This is not moral at all and is a serious problem. We wrote them a letter and requested the return of the money. You are using the signing authority for another purpose for your own interests; this is not moral at all, nor is it right. Otherwise, other problems will arise from the Court of Accounts audit and the money that will come to us from the Treasury could be cut."
Özel and Kılıçdaroğlu had come together at the funeral held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for former Manisa MP Hasan Gülay. IF NOT PAID, LEGAL PROCESS WILL BE INITIATED Stating that they would resort to legal means if the money was not returned to CHP accounts within the specified period, Kılıçdaroğlu noted that they would file a criminal complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Özgür Özel and other New Party executives.
