Brazilian President Lula da Silva announced his stance on the Iran war after weeks. Saying he disagrees with US President Donald Trump on this issue, Lula stated he is against a war with Iran. Lula also expressed he does not support intervention in Venezuela and views the events in Palestine as "genocide." The Brazilian leader also revealed that he gave Trump a copy of the nuclear agreement that Turkey and Brazil prepared with Iran in 2010.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva stated that he clashed with US President Donald Trump over the war with Iran. Lula clearly expressed his opposition to a war against Iran.
Speaking to the Washington Post, Lula said he does not support Trump's policies toward Iran, adding, "Trump knows I am against a war with Iran."
Lula also said he opposes interventions in Venezuela and described the events in Palestine as "genocide."
GAVE TRUMP THE IRAN DEAL
The Brazilian leader also revealed that he gave Trump a copy of the nuclear agreement Brazil and Turkey negotiated with Iran in 2010. Lula stated that Trump said he would read the agreement.
"DISAGREEMENTS SHOULD NOT HINDER RELATIONS"
Stating that he has differences of opinion with Trump on many issues, Lula said that constructive relations between the two countries should continue nonetheless. Lula's remarks drew attention amid rising diplomatic tensions worldwide over the Iran war.
