In a landslide at an illegal gold mine in northern Angola, 28 people lost their lives. It was reported that 13 of those killed in the disaster in Bengo province were from the same family. While three people rescued with injuries are receiving treatment in hospital, search efforts continue for two individuals believed to be still trapped under the rubble.

LANDSLIDE SWALLOWED THE MINE
The disaster occurred in an abandoned mine in the town of Nambuangongo, Bengo province. Many people were trapped under the rubble after the landslide at the illegally operated gold mine.
13 PEOPLE FROM THE SAME FAMILY
Authorities announced that 13 of the 28 deceased were from the same family. It was reported that 3 people rescued injured from the rubble are receiving treatment in hospital.
SEARCH OPERATIONS CONTINUE
It was stated that search efforts are ongoing for 2 people determined to be in the mine.
