The CHP called 411 mayors from across Turkey to Istanbul following the arrest of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer. It was learned that Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş would not be able to go to Istanbul due to attending a funeral ceremony in Ankara in the afternoon.

The CHP administration called not only its members of parliament but also 411 mayors to Esenyurt. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel also invited all Istanbul residents to gather in front of the Esenyurt Municipality.
MANSUR YAVAŞ WILL NOT ATTEND
While the CHP requested all provincial and district mayors to cancel their programs and participate in the protest in front of the Esenyurt Municipality today at 16:00, it was learned that Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş would not be able to come to Istanbul as he would be attending a funeral ceremony in Ankara in the afternoon.

CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik announced that they would gather in front of the Esenyurt Municipality today at 16:00 for the arrested Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer. Çelik made a call saying, "We are waiting for all Istanbul residents who stand for justice and democracy against the usurpation of will and lawlessness."
