Melih Gökçek, who is under investigation over claims that 'unregistered money was transferred to companies abroad' and was summoned for testimony as a suspect, was asked, 'Has the AK Party abandoned the Gökçeks?' While Gökçek responded, 'Justice is justice for everyone. Look, am I crying?', he also denied the allegations that he transferred money abroad through his family.
Former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek answered questions from Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz regarding the investigation launched against him and allegations about his family's investments in Germany.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into Gökçek regarding allegations of "transferring unregistered money to companies abroad." While journalist Murat Ağırel, who brought the allegations to the agenda, was heard as a witness within the scope of the investigation, it was learned that Gökçek was also summoned to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to testify as a suspect on Friday, September 4, at 16:00.
"DID THE AK PARTY WRITE OFF THE GÖKÇEKS?"
İsmail Saymaz also asked Gökçek about the AK Party's attitude towards him, in addition to the investigation.
To Saymaz's question "Did the AK Party perhaps write off the Gökçeks?", Gökçek gave the following response:
"Justice is justice for everyone. Justice for the Gökçeks, justice for İsmail Saymaz. Look, am I crying?"
"I HAVE NEVER TRANSFERRED EVEN 1 LIRA ABROAD IN MY LIFE"
When Saymaz asked about the allegations that he transferred money abroad through his son and daughter-in-law, Gökçek denied this.
Gökçek said, "There is no such thing. I have never transferred even 1 lira abroad in my life. After becoming mayor, I never went abroad. Forget Germany, I never even left my country."
Stating that his son Ahmet Gökçek and his daughter-in-law Hülya Gökçek are in Turkey, Gökçek said there was no invitation for them to give statements.

Gökçek also responded to a question about his family's transactions in Germany, stating that the process was related to a residence permit and that he did not know the details.
When Saymaz asked whether the attempts to obtain a residence permit from Germany contradicted Gökçek's past trips to Germany, Gökçek used the following statements: "The children are thinking of doing business in Germany. That's all it is. They took 3.8 million, couldn't pay it all at once, and paid it in installments."
In response to the question about the source of the money used in the investments in Germany, Gökçek said he did not know how many properties were sold in Ankara and that he was not informed about this matter.
AĞIREL: A COMPANY NAMED "HAMAG" WAS ESTABLISHED IN GERMANY
Murat Ağırel, who was heard as a witness within the scope of the investigation, claimed that Melih Gökçek's son Ahmet Gökçek and his daughter-in-law Hülya Gökçek established a company named HAMAG in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Ağırel claimed that the company initially had a capital of 30 thousand euros, zero turnover, and zero employees, and that by 2024 it reached assets worth 3 million 800 thousand euros.
Stating that these assets consisted of 15 apartments and two commercial units, Ağırel further claimed that a contract was made for a property worth 8 million 700 thousand euros, containing 18 apartments and five commercial units in Velbert, Germany, but the sale did not take place because the conditions were not met.
THE CLAIM OF A SHOPPING MALL WORTH 180-200 MILLION EUROS
Ağırel also claimed that the process later extended to Luxembourg. Stating that he received information from two different sources, he alleged that negotiations were held for the purchase of a shopping mall worth 180-200 million euros there, and the purchase was abandoned after the parties could not agree.
"A MUCH LARGER EVENT PLOT WILL EMERGE"
Saying he submitted the information and documents in his possession to the prosecutor's office, Ağırel stated that the investigation could expand, using the following statements: "I believe that at the end of this investigation, a much larger event, an event plot, will emerge. The prosecutor's office is continuing its investigation regarding this."
