According to the latest forecasts from Meteorology, temperatures in Istanbul will drop sharply over the weekend due to a cold air wave coming from the Balkans. The air temperature, approaching 30 degrees on Thursday and Friday, will fall to 22 degrees on Saturday with the effect of heavy rain, showing a decrease of 7 degrees.
Turkey is coming under the influence of a new rainy weather system. According to the latest forecasts from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, partly and locally cloudy weather will prevail across the country today.
With the rainy and cool weather system coming from the Balkans, intermittent showers will be seen in the inner parts of the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, inner parts of the Western Black Sea, and the northern parts of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia.
ISTANBUL TEMPERATURE TO APPROACH 30 DEGREES
Today, the temperature in Istanbul is measured at 28 degrees, while it is expected to range between 29-30 degrees on Thursday and Friday.
In Ankara, the temperature will rise to 29 degrees, while it will be 32 degrees in Izmir and 27 degrees in Antalya. In the Southeastern Anatolia Region, temperatures will exceed seasonal norms, reaching 36 degrees in Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, and Diyarbakır.
7 DEGREE DROP ON SATURDAY
With the weekend, the weather will change significantly. The showers expected to be effective in most parts of the country on Saturday will cause temperatures to drop rapidly in Istanbul.
In the city, the temperature, which was around 29-30 degrees on Friday, will drop to 22 degrees on Saturday.
RAIN EXPECTED IN MOST PARTS OF THE COUNTRY
On Saturday, showers will be effective in many cities in the western and central regions, except for the coasts of Izmir, Mugla, and Antalya. Rainy weather will also be seen in the Eastern Anatolia Region.
The Meteorology warns citizens, especially those making weekend plans, to be careful against sudden temperature changes and rain.
TEMPERATURES TO RISE AGAIN ON SUNDAY
On Sunday, as the rain loses its effect in Istanbul, temperatures will rise again. The air temperature in the city is expected to reach 25 degrees.
