In the Akçakale district of Şanlıurfa, 53-year-old Hüseyin Y., who climbed a pole to pull an electrical line to a house, was electrocuted while working. It was reported that the unfortunate worker, who was left hanging upside down on the pole and was brought down by the intervention of firefighting teams, remains in serious condition.
A horrific workplace accident occurred in the morning hours in the Akçakale district of Şanlıurfa. In the incident that took place in the Büyüktaş neighborhood, a worker narrowly escaped death on an electricity pole.
ELECTROCUTED AND LEFT HANGING UPSIDE DOWN
According to the information obtained, 53-year-old Hüseyin Y. climbed the pole to install a new power line for a house in the neighborhood. While Hüseyin Y. was working on the pole, he was suddenly electrocuted by high voltage for an undetermined reason. Losing his balance due to the current, the unfortunate worker got his foot caught on the pole and was left hanging upside down.
RESCUED AFTER POWER CUT
When nearby citizens saw the worker hanging upside down on the pole, they immediately notified the authorities. Following the report, teams from Dicle Electricity Distribution Company (DEDAŞ), the fire department, and medical units were dispatched to the scene.
The DEDAŞ teams quickly cut the power to the line to prevent a possible disaster. After ensuring safety, the fire department teams carried out a meticulous operation and brought the severely injured worker down from the pole where he was hanging.
FIGHTING FOR LIFE IN HOSPITAL
Hüseyin Y., who received first aid at the base of the pole from medical teams waiting at the scene, was urgently taken by ambulance to Akçakale State Hospital. It was reported that Hüseyin Y., who was taken into treatment in the hospital's emergency room, suffered severe burns on his body and remains in critical condition.
