MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made a striking statement before the lawsuit filed on the claim that "the will of the delegates was tainted with absolute nullity" in the 38th Congress of CHP, held on November 4-5, 2023, where Özgür Özel was elected as the 'Chairman'. Yıldız said, "If a decision of absolute nullity is made and the decision becomes final, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team may legally become authorized again."

A remarkable statement came from MHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Law and Election Affairs Feti Yıldız before the lawsuit filed with the claim that "the delegate's will was invalidated by absolute nullity" in the 38th Congress of CHP, held on November 4-5, 2023, where Özgür Özel was elected 'General Chairman'.

“KILIÇDAROĞLU AND HIS TEAM COULD LEGALLY BECOME AUTHORIZED AGAIN”

In his post on social media, Yıldız said that if the court issues an 'absolute nullity' decision and it becomes final, former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team could replace Özel.

Yıldız used the following expressions: “A lawsuit for annulment was filed claiming that 'the delegate's will was invalidated by absolute nullity' in the 38th Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, where Mr. Özgür Özel was elected CHP Chairman. The local court rejected the absolute nullity request without examining the merits. The court's rejection was appealed to the Ankara Regional Court of Justice for review. During the review process, the appellate court requested all evidence and case files from the relevant local courts in Istanbul and Ankara. The court is still examining all these documents. If an absolute nullity decision is made and finalized, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team could legally become authorized again in place of Özgür Özel's administration. In the criminal case filed at the Ankara 26th Criminal Court of First Instance, with claims of "irregularities" and "vote rigging" in CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, 12 defendants are being tried. The fifth hearing of the case will be held on May 6.”

BAHÇELİ: CHP SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE FRAGMENTED

Meanwhile, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, responding to journalists' questions after his party's group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), also commented on the issue.

Pointing out that CHP is a deep-rooted political party, Bahçeli said, “CHP is an important political party that has existed since the founding of the Republic. We hope that this institution is not allowed to be disrupted, fragmented, legally damaged, or used for other purposes.”

Also stating that CHP should meet with society instead of division and harsh criticisms, Bahçeli said, “Instead of continuing on its way through division, harsh criticisms, and belittling those who are together, let CHP choose to meet with the nation and take on its historical responsibility.”
