Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced that two murder cases in Kırıkkale and Kızılcahamam have been resolved, with a total of 35 unresolved murders solved across 30 cases in four months. In the Hüseyin Okumuşoğlu murder in Kırıkkale, 16 suspects were detained, and in the Emrah Daşdemir murder in Kızılcahamam, 1 suspect was detained.
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that two more murder cases committed in Kırıkkale and Kızılcahamam have been solved. Minister Gürlek stated, "Within the scope of the work carried out by our Department for Investigating Unsolved Crimes in coordination with the relevant chief public prosecutor's offices and law enforcement units, 35 unsolved murders in 30 files have been solved within four months."
BODY FOUND IN A DEEP FREEZER
Minister Gürlek emphasized that significant developments occurred this morning in two separate murder files that had been awaiting resolution for years, and noted the following: "In the studies conducted under the coordination of our Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office with the Kırıkkale Provincial Police Department; the file regarding the death of Hüseyin Okumuşoğlu, who disappeared in Kırıkkale in 2014 and whose lifeless body was found in a deep freezer at a residence in 2025, was re-examined and the investigation was deepened.
BUTTON PRESSED THIS MORNING
Statements were taken from 98 people, and correspondence was conducted with 112 different institutions and organizations. In line with technical examinations, communication records, and new findings obtained, 17 suspects considered to be linked to the incident were identified. In the operation carried out this morning, 16 suspects were detained.
EMRAH DAŞDEMİR MURDER ALSO SOLVED
The other important development occurred in the investigation regarding Emrah Daşdemir, who was killed in 2018 in the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara, within the scope of the work carried out under the coordination of our Kızılcahamam Chief Public Prosecutor's Office with the Kızılcahamam District Gendarmerie Command.
HTS records, base station movements, social media correspondence, and suspect statements were evaluated in detail. The previous decision of no need for further prosecution regarding the suspect was lifted based on the new findings obtained. Within the scope of the investigation, Halil Can Çelik was detained this morning.
