Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek made a striking call during a live broadcast, drawing attention to global technology and service companies. Stating that they aim for Turkey to become not only a production hub but also a regional service and financial center, Şimşek announced that they want multinational companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple to relocate their operational headquarters to Turkey.

“LET THEM MANAGE THE MIDDLE EAST AND THE BALKANS FROM TURKEY”

Speaking on TRT Haber, Minister Şimşek emphasized that Turkey, with its strategic location and strong infrastructure, is suitable to be a regional base, using the following statements: “We say that global companies like Google, Microsoft, and Apple should move their operational centers to Turkey. We say that they should manage Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Balkans from Turkey.”

Emphasizing that this call is not limited to technology companies, Şimşek stated that many global companies, including biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms, are also being targeted to be attracted to Turkey.

“TAX EXEMPTION FOR 20 YEARS”

Minister Şimşek also detailed the incentives offered to attract companies to Turkey. Noting that particularly strong tax advantages are provided in the Istanbul Financial Center, Şimşek said: "If you move your service center to Turkey and generate 80 percent of your revenues from abroad, we zero out the corporate tax for 20 years in the Istanbul Financial Center."

Şimşek announced that for companies operating outside the Istanbul Financial Center, a 95 percent tax reduction would be applied.

GOAL TO MAKE TURKEY A GLOBAL SERVICE BASE

It is noted that the economic administration's goal is to make Turkey not only a production center but also a management and service base for global companies. Şimşek stated that Turkey stands out among regional countries with its industrial strength, logistical advantages, and young population. During the live broadcast, Şimşek also made evaluations regarding supports for transit trade, exports, and the manufacturing industry, adding that new incentives would continue to attract high-value-added investments to Turkey.
