MİT cross-border operation! 10 ISIS terrorists, one linked to the Ankara train station massacre, captured.

During an operation conducted by the National Intelligence Organization in Syria, 10 members of the terrorist organization DEAŞ, who were wanted with a red notice, were captured and brought to Turkey. It was determined that one of the captured terrorists was linked to the perpetrators of the Ankara Train Station attack, which resulted in the deaths of 109 people. Security sources stated that the suspects had been involved in many terrorist acts carried out in Turkey in the past.

The National Intelligence Organization carried out an operation against ISIS across the border. As a result of the operation conducted by MIT in coordination with the Syrian Intelligence Service in Syria, 10 ISIS members sought with Red Notices were captured and brought to Turkey. Following joint efforts by MIT and the General Directorate of Security's Counter-Terrorism Department, 9 of the 10 ISIS members were arrested, while the detention period for one was extended.

ONE IS CONNECTED TO THE ANKARA TRAIN STATION MASSACRE

As a result of MIT's intelligence efforts, individuals of Turkish origin who crossed from Turkey to Syria and joined the ISIS terrorist organization were identified. Through intelligence work, it was revealed that these individuals were active within ISIS. Additionally, it was determined that these individuals had been involved in many past terrorist acts carried out in Turkey.

It was also revealed that one of the 10 captured ISIS terrorists was connected to the perpetrators of the Ankara Train Station attack, which killed 109 people.

CROSS-BORDER OPERATION IN SYRIA

Upon identifying that 10 ISIS members were in Syria, MIT contacted the Syrian Intelligence Service. Following the established coordination, field work began. As a result of the efforts, the locations of the individuals were determined. The movements of the terrorists were monitored step by step.

With the organized operation, 10 ISIS terrorists were captured in Syria and brought to Turkey.

9 ARRESTED, 1 DETENTION EXTENDED

As a result of joint efforts by MIT and the General Directorate of Security's Counter-Terrorism Department, 9 ISIS members were arrested by the court after their interrogations, while the detention period for one was extended.

In their statements at the police department, the 10 ISIS terrorists provided details regarding:

- The operation orders given by ISIS,

- The armed and religious training they received within ISIS,

- The propaganda activities they carried out on behalf of ISIS.

10 individuals active within ISIS sought with Red Notices:

Ali Bora, the so-called intelligence emir of ISIS responsible for Turkey; crossed into Syria in 2014 to join ISIS. He served in various units within ISIS. He participated in many conflicts. He worked within the Faruk Office (Turkey Province). He was among the planners of three separate actions carried out by so-called Turkey Province elements against TAF forces.

Ömer Deniz Dündar, who was in contact with the ISIS terrorists who carried out the 2015 Ankara Train Station attack resulting in the deaths of 109 people and hundreds of injuries, crossed into Syria in 2014 to join ISIS. He served in different units within ISIS. He participated in many conflicts. He worked within ISIS's Faruk Office (Turkey Province). He was found to be connected to the perpetrators of the 2015 Ankara Train Station attack. It was also revealed that he was linked to many other attacks carried out by the terrorist organization against Turkey.

In 2017, during operations to prevent potential acts in Turkey, Ömer Deniz Dündar's fingerprints were found on the bomb mechanisms worn by two suicide attackers captured.

Hüseyin Peri; crossed into Syria in 2014 to join ISIS. He worked within the health unit of ISIS. In 2015, he was captured by PYD/YPG elements and imprisoned. He was released in a prisoner exchange between PYD/YPG and ISIS. After his release, he continued his activities in ISIS's health unit until 2019.

Kadir Gözükara; under the direction of Mustafa Dokumacı, leader of the DOKUMACI Group operating under ISIS, crossed into Syria in 2015 to join ISIS. Due to his disability, he did not engage in armed activities within ISIS but was tasked with meeting the logistical needs of ISIS elements arriving in Syria. Under M. Dokumacı's direction, he carried out media activities until 2021.

Abdullah Çobanoğlu; crossed into Syria in 2016 to operate in conflict zones. He acted as an armed element within groups adopting Salafi/takfiri views in the Syrian field. He lost his leg in an IED attack on the vehicle he was in. In 2020, he pledged allegiance to ISIS and served in the media unit under the Faruk Office.

Hakkı Yüksek; crossed into Syria in 2016 to join ISIS. He participated in armed activities and conflicts within ISIS. After ISIS lost its controlled territory, he continued his activities within the organization's cell structure. He worked for a period within the Faruk Office (Turkey Province). He served as the deputy of Mustafa Dokumacı, leader of the DOKUMACI Group, and even handled his private affairs.

Kadir Demir; crossed from Şanlıurfa to Syria in 2016 to operate in conflict zones. He operated alongside Salafi/takfiri groups in Idlib and surrounding areas. In 2017, he pledged allegiance to ISIS and served as an administrative responsible within the Faruk Office (Turkey Province). He was found to be linked to actions carried out by the Faruk Office.

Çekdar Yılmaz; crossed into Syria in 2017 to join ISIS. After receiving military training within ISIS, he operated as an armed element in the Idlib region. In 2018, he joined the ISIS Faruk Contingent and continued his activities in the media unit.

Murat Özdemir; crossed into Syria in 2017 to join ISIS. He participated in armed actions within ISIS in the Idlib region. After the organization lost its controlled territory, he continued his activities within the Faruk Office (Turkey Province). He also conducted activities within ISIS against the Assad regime.

İshak Günci; crossed into Syria in 2017 to join ISIS. He participated in conflicts as an armed element within ISIS. He served within the Faruk Office. He took part in mortar attacks against the Assad regime. He continued his activities within ISIS until his capture.
