MIT has dismantled an international spy network conducting intelligence activities against Turkey. In an operation carried out across 4 provinces targeting 9 individuals in the spy network, 7 people were detained, and it was determined that 2 individuals were already in prison for other crimes.
The National Intelligence Organization (MIT), as a result of its intelligence activities, identified one by one 9 individuals involved in a spy network working for two different foreign services. A simultaneous operation was carried out in 4 provinces within the scope of a joint investigation conducted by MIT with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ankara TEM Branch Directorate's "special teams", and 7 individuals, including B.E., the head of the spy network, were taken into custody.
It was learned that 2 individuals in the network were in prison on other charges. The 7 individuals, who were referred to judicial authorities for trial on espionage charges, were arrested.
THEY COLLECTED SENSITIVE INFORMATION AND TRANSFERRED IT TO FOREIGN SERVICES
B.E. and the individuals in the spy network were collecting sensitive information about non-governmental organizations, associations, ethnic groups, and public officials in Turkey and transferring it to foreign intelligence services.
EVERY MOVE WAS TRACKED
The suspicious activities of the individuals in the network drew MIT's attention. A comprehensive intelligence operation was launched. The activities of B.E. and other members of the organization were systematically monitored through physical surveillance, cyber monitoring, and technical listening methods. Over time, the network's communication lines with foreign services, reporting methods, payment mechanisms, and task instructions were fully recorded.
B.E. and the network he managed continued their espionage activities for a long time, believing their activities were secret and under control.
As a result of MIT's prolonged intelligence efforts, the entire organizational structure of the network, including B.E. at the center of the network conducting espionage activities against Turkey, was exposed.
GREAT VICTORY FROM MIT
With this operation, not only the identities of the network members but also the network structure, communication protocols, and strategic targets of foreign intelligence services in Turkey were revealed. MIT, through the information obtained during the operation, ensured the protection of national security and analyzed the methods of foreign services in detail.
