An investigation has been launched in Izmir after a report that obscene content of an 11-year-old girl was shared on TikTok. The mother was taken into custody, while legal proceedings were initiated against the father, who is in prison. Reactions continue regarding the incident, with the child being placed under protection.
Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, action was taken upon a report that obscene content belonging to a minor child was being shared via TikTok accounts. Following the report made on May 29, it was determined in the investigations initiated that the victim child is A.A., born in 2015.
MOTHER DETAINED, FATHER ALREADY IN PRISON
As part of the investigation, the suspects were identified as mother G.A. and father Y.A. Investigations revealed that father Y.A. is in a penal institution serving sentences for various crimes. Upon the instruction of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, mother G.A. was taken into custody.
CHILD REFERRED TO CHILD MONITORING CENTER
The victim child, A.A., was referred to the Izmir Child Monitoring Center for the execution of judicial procedures. It was reported that efforts are ongoing to take the child's testimony accompanied by a pedagogue and to implement necessary protective measures.
DIGITAL MATERIALS BEING EXAMINED
As part of the investigation, digital materials were seized. Authorities continue their examinations to identify other suspects who may be linked to the incident.
The investigation, coordinated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, is being conducted multi-directionally by the Izmir Provincial Police Department's Public Order and Juvenile Branch teams.
