In the bribery investigation targeting the municipality, Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, the son of Muhittin Böcek, who was arrested and removed from his position as the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, was also arrested as part of the same investigation after being detained at the airport. It is alleged that Böcek received 195 million lira in bribes from four individuals who were awarded contracts by the municipality for payment of their entitlements.

MUHİTTİN BÖCEK'S SON ARRESTED
As part of the investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, the son of Muhittin Böcek, who was removed from his position as the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality after being arrested, was also detained yesterday at Antalya Airport. After completing his procedures at the police station, Böcek was referred to the courthouse following a health check. After the procedures at the prosecutor's office, Böcek was brought before the duty magistrate and was arrested.
INVESTIGATION
In the 'bribery' investigation coordinated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Muhittin Böcek and his former daughter-in-law Z.K. were detained on July 5, and it was determined that Böcek's son, suspect Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, was abroad. On the same day, Muhittin Böcek, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested, while his former daughter-in-law Z.K. was released under judicial control with a travel ban. Following the decision, Muhittin Böcek was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior.
During the continuation of the investigation, Serkan Temuçin, the Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality, and Tuncay Kaya, who served as the director of the Department of Urban Aesthetics, were arrested for the crime of "embezzlement," while IT support employee Halil K. was released under judicial control and house arrest.
Zuhal Böcek, the daughter-in-law of Muhittin Böcek, who returned from abroad, was also caught at the airport on July 27 on the charge of "laundering the proceeds of crime," and other suspects H.A, K.A., and B.Ç. were detained the next day. Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, Zuhal Böcek was arrested, while the others were released after the prosecutor's interrogation.
As part of the bribery investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 17 people were detained in a simultaneous operation carried out by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department teams of the Provincial Police Department on August 12. After their procedures at the police station, 2 of them were released, while 8 of the 15 suspects referred to the courthouse were arrested, 5 were released under judicial control, and 2 were released after their statements to the prosecutor.
ALLEGATION OF MILLION-DOLLAR BRIBERY AFTER THE TENDER
On August 12, as part of the bribery investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 17 people were detained in an operation carried out by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department teams of the Provincial Police. It was alleged that A.A, B.Ç, M.Y., and Y.Y, who received tenders from the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, gave a bribe of 195 million lira to Muhittin Böcek and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek to receive their payment claims.
According to the technical examinations conducted, it was reported that the money was deposited into a currency exchange office account, some of it was delivered in cash, and the money was converted into gold through jewelers connected to the currency exchange office and stored in safes. It was also claimed that the suspects disguised their money transfers as currency trading and scrap gold sales. Some of the money transferred to the jeweler accounts was used for the purchase of luxury vehicles, which were first registered under different names, and the payments were made from the accounts of the license holders, which were also included in the investigation file.
CUSTODIAN APPOINTED TO CURRENCY EXCHANGE OFFICE AND 2 JEWELERS
The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appointed a custodian to 1 currency exchange office and 2 jewelry businesses based on the account movements related to the money transfers in the investigation file, the confessions of the suspects, and other information and documents. Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, the son of Muhittin Böcek, who has an arrest warrant against him, was detained when he arrived at Antalya Airport from Vienna on August 19.
