A mysterious light reflected on camera during the test flight carried out by SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, with its Starship rocket has also reignited UFO debates. While some claim that the pale blue formation, seen for a few seconds in the live broadcast, is a giant spaceship, it is also being considered that the image could be light reflected from the International Space Station or a trail left by the rocket.
SpaceX's Starship mission, which was completed earlier than planned due to technical glitches, came back into the spotlight with an unusual image recorded during the flight. Viewers following the rocket's journey noticed the blue light appearing in the background of the broadcast, prompting different interpretations about the source of the image.
IT LED TO UFO CLAIMS
About 8 minutes after Starship's launch, a curved, light blue light briefly appeared in the camera footage.
Some UFO enthusiasts who examined the image argued that the light could belong to a large spacecraft. Some even claimed that the object resembled a mothership and could be larger than a city.
However, the footage does not provide enough data to determine the light's true size or its distance from the camera. There is also no evidence confirming that an extraterrestrial spacecraft was captured.
WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF THE MYSTERIOUS LIGHT?
Along with extraterrestrial life claims regarding the image that emerged, different explanations also came to the fore.
One of them is that sunlight reflecting off the International Space Station may have created such an image in the camera.
Another possibility is that the light is connected to the Super Heavy booster rocket separating from Starship. In some assessments, it was suggested that the trail formed after the booster shut down its engines could have reflected onto the camera.
THE ROCKET'S ENGINE STOPPED EARLY, THE MISSION WAS SHORTENED
Technical problems were also experienced during the flight that SpaceX carried out to place 26 next-generation satellites into its Starlink network and collect data for future Moon and Mars missions.
According to the company engineers' statement, one of Starship's engines was disabled earlier than expected. As a result, the duration of the mission, which was planned to last about 10 hours, was reduced to 3 hours.
IT TURNED INTO A FIREBALL DURING SPLASHDOWN
Starship, stated to be worth approximately 90 million dollars, also became the scene of an unexpected sight in the final part of the flight.
The vehicle, which appeared to descend in a controlled manner in the first stage, turned into a large fireball during its splashdown. SpaceX's live broadcast footage, however, ended just before the explosion.
SPACEX AND ELON MUSK SILENT
No official statement was made by SpaceX or Elon Musk regarding what the blue light in the images was.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, however, congratulated SpaceX's technical team after the launch and described the flight as successful and impressive.
