The body of Makhfura Huseynova (44), a missing Azerbaijani national who disappeared after boarding a passenger ferry from Kadıköy to Beşiktaş, was found off the coast of Haydarpaşa. Meanwhile, footage of Huseynova boarding the ferry has emerged.
On the Kadıköy-Beşiktaş ferry, at around 22:00 on May 2, it was noticed that a woman sitting with her bag on the deck had disappeared after a while. When it was understood that the bag was still there but the woman was not on the ferry, the situation was reported to the officials.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SHE BOARDED THE FERRY IN KADIKÖY
In the investigation conducted by the Harbor Branch Directorate teams, it was determined that the ferry making the trip was the passenger ship named Kırçıloğlu 4. During the checks on the black bag found on the ferry, the woman's identification information was obtained. It was determined that the bag belonged to Makhfura Huseynova, a citizen of Azerbaijan. Examining the camera footage at the Kadıköy pier, the teams determined that Huseynova passed through the turnstile and boarded the ferry around 20:20. The footage was also shown to the missing woman's daughter, Nigar Yusifli. Yusifli confirmed that the person in the footage was her mother.
IT EMERGED THAT SHE DID NOT DISEMBARK IN BEŞİKTAŞ
The camera footage at the Beşiktaş pier, the ferry's destination, was also examined together by the police teams and the missing woman's daughter. In the examination, no footage of Huseynova disembarking at the Beşiktaş pier was found. In a meeting with the boat captain, it was learned that the cameras on the ferry had not been working since April 14. Search operations continue at sea with 2 control boats belonging to the Harbor Branch Directorate, 1 boat from the Coast Guard, and 1 boat from the Turkish Coast Guard to find the woman. Police teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
HER BODY WAS FOUND OFF HAYDARPAŞA
Following the incident, as a result of the search operations in the Bosphorus, the lifeless body of Makhfura Huseynova was found off Haydarpaşa. Huseynova's body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy procedures.
HER LAST FOOTAGE EMERGED
Meanwhile, footage of Makhfura Huseynova boarding the ferry in Kadıköy has emerged. In the footage, Huseynova is seen boarding the ferry with other passengers.
