Our national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli bid farewell to the games by losing 4-1 to her Thai opponent Janjaem Suwannapheng in the women's 66 kilogram quarterfinal match. Busenaz had advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Aneta Rygielska from Poland 4-1 in the round of 16.
WHO IS BUSENAZ SÜRMENELİ?
Busenaz Sürmeneli was born on May 26, 1998, in Bursa. She has a twin sister named Tuğçenaz and is originally from Trabzon. She is a member of Fenerbahçe Sports Club. Busenaz recently won the gold medal by defeating Russian boxer Albina Moldazhanova 5-0 in the final match of the 66 kilogram category at the 2024 European Boxing Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia. The successful boxer has also won gold medals at the 2019 and 2022 World Boxing Championships and the 2024 European Boxing Championships.
