National boxer Hatice Akbaş won a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games.

In the 2024 Olympic Games, national boxer Hatice Akbaş, who represents our country in the women's 54 kg category, competed in the gold medal match against Chinese Yuan Chang at Roland-Garros. Akbaş won the silver medal in the match she lost.

By defeating South Korean Aeji Im 3-2 in the semi-finals, the national athlete advanced to the final and faced Chinese Yuan Chang in the gold medal match.

WHO IS HATICE AKBAŞ?

Born on June 24, 2001, in Akçadağ district of Malatya, Hatice Akbaş started sports at the age of 10 with kickboxing and muay thai branches under the guidance of her father Kerem Akbaş. Akbaş, who participated in Turkish and Balkan championships for 4 years without any equipment, only shadow boxing, switched to boxing in 2014. Akbaş, who has won numerous medals in European and World championships, continues her career at Fenerbahçe.
