Our national wrestler Enes Başar achieved an unprecedented success in the elimination round of the Greco-Roman style 60 kg category at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Despite being 7-0 behind against his Serbian opponent Georgij Tibilov, Enes managed to win the match 8-7 and advanced to the round of 16. In this round, our athlete was defeated 4-2 by Romanian wrestler Razvan Arnaut. If Arnaut advances to the final, our athlete will compete in the repechage match tomorrow for the bronze medal.

COMEBACK FROM 7-0 DOWN
Our national wrestler Enes Başar faced Georgij Tibilov from Serbia in the Greco-Roman style 60 kg elimination round. Enes, who was trailing 7-0 against his opponent, made a great comeback and won the match 8-7, advancing to the round of 16. Our athlete will face Romanian Razvan Arnaut in the round of 16 today.
WHO IS ENES BAŞAR?
Enes Başar was born on April 30, 1999 in Ankara. The 31-year-old national wrestler, who is 1.69 meters tall and weighs 82 kilograms, is a member of ASKİ Sports Club. Enes, who won a bronze medal at the 2018 European Wrestling Championships, also won another bronze medal in the 63 kg category at the World Wrestling Championships held in Serbia in 2023. The successful athlete, who competes in the Greco-Roman style, secured a spot in the Paris Olympics by defeating his opponent 5-2 at the 2024 European Wrestling Olympic Qualifiers held in Azerbaijan.
