In Gaziantep, a heartless father who slapped his 7-year-old daughter multiple times in the middle of the street and dragged her by her hair from behind a moving motorcycle was taken into custody by police teams. Gaziantep Governorate also stated in its announcement that there were signs of assault on the child's body.

In the Mevlana neighborhood of Gaziantep, an incident occurred yesterday evening where Metin K. (34) mercilessly assaulted his 7-year-old daughter Y.K. on the street. The angry father approached his daughter on a motorcycle and slapped the young child multiple times. Unable to contain his rage, Metin K. then grabbed his daughter by the hair and dragged her behind his moving motorcycle.

STRUCK MERCILESSLY 

The footage clearly shows the father arriving on a motorcycle, brutally hitting the young girl, then grabbing her by the hair and dragging her as he rode the motorcycle. As the images sparked outrage, Provincial Police Department teams immediately took action, apprehending and detaining the suspect father.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE: 'HE WAS ABUSING HIS CHILDREN'

The Gaziantep Governor's Office released a statement on social media regarding the incident, stating the following:

'In the incident on June 6, 2026, where a girl child was assaulted in our province, an investigation by our Police Department determined that the child named Y.K. had signs of assault on her body. Based on statements that her father Metin K. had been subjecting her and his children to violence, an inquiry was initiated into the incident, and the suspect was detained upon the prosecutor's order.'

After the procedures, the assaulted young Y.K. was handed over to her mother, while the investigation into the suspect father, who is still undergoing police procedures, continues in multiple directions.
