Gamze Doğan and her newborn baby Güney, who lost their lives after a cesarean birth at a private hospital in Denizli, were sent off on their final journey with a funeral ceremony. The lifeless bodies of the mother and her baby, handed over to the family after autopsy procedures, were buried side by side amid tears.
HE NEVER LEFT HIS FIRST CHILD FOR A MOMENT
In addition to the grieving family members, many citizens attended the funeral ceremony held in Develi Neighborhood of Pamukkale district. Emotional moments were experienced during the funeral of the mother and baby, who were first taken to the front of their home to receive helallik (forgiveness). During the helallik, grieving father Mehmet Doğan did not leave his first child, his son Güney, out of his arms for a moment.
After the funeral prayer, held at the Develi Neighborhood Football Field due to high attendance and crowd, the funerals of Gamze Doğan and her baby were taken to the neighborhood cemetery.

The mother and baby were buried side by side accompanied by prayers and tears. During the arrival of the funerals at the cemetery, Mehmet Doğan carried the coffin of his child, whom he was preparing to name Güney, in his arms to the grave.
The most heartbreaking detail at the funeral was that the birth swaddle, bought with different dreams for the deceased baby, was wrapped around the tombstone of the little one.
