Millions of retirees and civil servants are turning their eyes to the salary increase scheduled for July. While the inflation data for the first four months, announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, has largely shaped the raise rates, the May and June inflation results are awaited for the exact figures. Here is the raise calculation for many occupational groups working in the public sector, especially teachers, police officers, doctors, nurses, and engineers.
With inflation rates of 4.84% in January, 2.96% in February, 1.94% in March, and 4.18% in April, the cumulative four-month raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has reached 14.64%.
MAY INFLATION TO BE ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 5
TÜİK will announce the May inflation data on Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM due to Eid al-Adha. With this announcement and the subsequent June data, the definitive raise rate for retirees and civil servants will be finalized.
EXPECTATION OF 18.58% FOR SSK AND BAĞ-KUR RETIREES
According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) May 2026 Market Participants Survey, economists' inflation expectation for May is 1.89%, and for June it is 1.52%. If these estimates materialize, the total six-month inflation is projected to reach 18.58%. Thus, the raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in July is expected to be at least 18.58%.
Changes Based on Current Salaries:
- A retiree receiving 20,000 TL will see their monthly payment rise to 22,928 TL based on four-month data,
