The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that there was no concrete evidence supporting the allegations and issued a non-prosecution decision. As a result of the review, the prosecutor's office decided on March 1, 2026, that there was no need for prosecution regarding Zafer Murat Mermer. The decision emphasized that there was no legal basis to associate Mermer with the incident in question.
