The Kızılırmak, which originates from Sivas and flows into the Black Sea, holding the title of Turkey's longest river, was on the verge of drying up last year, but this year it has almost overflowed. The river, which was overtaken by reeds last year due to drought, had its transformation over a year captured by a drone.
Rising from the foothills of Kızıldağ in the İmranlı district of Sivas and flowing into the Black Sea in the Bafra district of Samsun, the Kızılırmak River had surrendered to reeds last year.
KIZILIRMAK SURGES
The Kızılırmak, whose water level had dropped significantly due to drought, was revived by rainfall in autumn and winter. Known as Turkey's longest river with a length of 1,355 kilometers passing through 10 provinces, the Kızılırmak surged again with melting snow and spring rains.
LAST YEAR'S WATER LEVEL WAS AT ROCK BOTTOM
The one-year change in the Kızılırmak, which also hosts migratory birds along its route, was captured by a drone.
