The Ankara Regional Court of Appeals' 'absolute nullity' decision regarding the CHP congresses was hung at the entrance of the party headquarters. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as the Chairman, will greet party members and citizens at the CHP headquarters on the second day of the holiday (May 28).
Cleaning and renovation efforts continue following the events during and after the evacuation at the Republican People's Party (CHP) Headquarters. The Ankara Regional Court of Appeal (BAM) 36th Civil Chamber's "absolute nullity" decision was posted at the entrance of the party headquarters.
DAMAGE INSPECTION UNDERWAY
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as CHP Chairman by the court, along with some of his aides, arrived at the CHP Headquarters and continued inspections in damaged areas. In this context, damaged areas within the building are being renovated, and comprehensive cleaning is underway.
OFFICE DOOR PLATES REMOVED
In the party, photographs of Özgür Özel, who was temporarily suspended from the CHP Chairmanship by the court, were removed, while the names of former Secretary General and Deputy Chairpersons were taken off the plates on office doors.
"STRUGGLE CONTINUES" BANNER REMOVED
Following the appeals court's decision on the CHP congress case, the banner reading "We did not step back, the struggle continues" that Özgür Özel had hung on the party building was also removed. The text of the relevant decision was seen posted on the door opening to the party's foyer area.
Security measures by police forces around the headquarters continue.
KILIÇDAROĞLU AT HEADQUARTERS ON SECOND DAY OF EID
Meanwhile, it was learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will greet party members and citizens at the headquarters on the second day of Eid al-Adha.
"ABSOLUTE NULLITY" DECISION
The Ankara Regional Court of Appeal (BAM) 36th Civil Chamber, in the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, decided to temporarily suspend Özgür Özel and the party administration from their duties and to have Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration take over the position.
Additionally, the cancellation of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress held on October 8, 2023, and all decisions taken at that congress, was ruled on the same grounds.
The chamber rejected the objection made by the CHP Headquarters against the interim injunction decision regarding the CHP Congress.
YSK REJECTS CHP'S OBJECTION
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) rejected the application requesting the "determination that the certificates of election are valid and that the elected officials continue their duties" within the scope of the temporary suspension of Özgür Özel and his administration by court order.
APPLICATION FOR CANCELLATION OF LOCAL ELECTIONS
Following the "absolute nullity" decision, a CHP member applied to the YSK for the cancellation of the March 31, 2024 local elections. The Supreme Election Council rejected the application.
