A ballistic missile identified as having been fired from Iran and heading towards Turkey was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements; the Iranian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was stated that the ambassador was informed of the reaction regarding the missile intercepted by NATO.
While the conflicts that began with the attacks of the USA and Israel on Iran continue with full force; Iran continues its attacks on US bases in the region and Israel.
IRANIAN MISSILE DOWNED IN TURKISH AIRSPACE
As tensions in the region reach a peak; the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that a ballistic missile fired from Iran, which was detected to be heading towards Turkey after crossing the airspace of Iraq and Syria, was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean.
NEW MOVE FROM TURKEY
Following the development, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed his reactions by calling his Iranian counterpart Arakçi; a new move came from Turkey.
According to the information obtained, the Iranian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was stated that the reaction regarding the missile downed by NATO was conveyed to the ambassador.
FIRST REACTION FROM THE USA
Following the downing of the missile, the first statement from the USA came from Defense Secretary Hegseth. In his statement regarding the issue, the Minister said, "We are aware of this. We need to see what kind of missile was intercepted. However, we do not think this will trigger something like NATO's Article 5. NATO's Article 5 is a collective defense rule that states an attack on one NATO country is considered an attack on all NATO countries and requires other members to assist the attacked country."
NATO: WE CONDEMN IRAN'S TARGETING OF TURKEY
NATO Spokesperson Allison Hart stated regarding the downed missile, "We condemn Iran's targeting of Turkey and we stand by our allies, including Turkey, in the face of Iran's indiscriminate attacks in the region."
USA-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN
While negotiations between Tehran and Washington continue, Israel and the USA launched a military attack on Iran on February 28.
Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in some regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the USA-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed.
Iran's Health Ministry Spokesperson Hussein Kermanpur announced that 867 people lost their lives in the USA-Israel attacks.
