In Silivri, Istanbul, foreign national Nikita Taşdemir, who entered a pond with a friend to cool off, was found dead by fire brigade teams after disappearing in the water. While an investigation into Taşdemir's death has been initiated, and her lifeless body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy, her friend who was with her at the time of the incident was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM at the pond located on 600th Street in Silivri Selimpaşa District. According to the information obtained, foreign national Nikita Taşdemir entered the pond with a friend to cool off. While swimming in the pond, Taşdemir disappeared from sight after some time, and the friends, unable to see him, immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
HEARTBREAKING SEARCH EFFORT AND INVESTIGATION
Upon the report, health, fire brigade, and gendarmerie teams were quickly dispatched to the area. As a result of the underwater search and rescue operations carried out by fire brigade teams in the pond, Nikita Taşdemir's lifeless body was reached. Following the examinations by the Crime Scene Investigation and gendarmerie teams around the pond, Taşdemir's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death.
FRIEND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
After the incident, gendarmerie teams deepened the investigation. The friend who was with Taşdemir at the time of the incident was taken into custody and brought to the Selimpaşa Gendarmerie Station to give a statement and clarify the details of the event. A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
