Following the aggravated life sentence handed down to her daughter Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter in the case concerning the death of Güllü, a beloved name in arabesque music, footage from years ago has once again drawn attention. In the footage where Güllü appeared on Gülben Ergen's program together with her two children, Tuğyan's words describing her relationship with her mother and the statements of her brother Yağız stood out.

According to the information provided, at the hearing held on October 9, 2026, at Yalova 1st Heavy Penal Court, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for premeditated murder of her mother.
FOOTAGE FROM GÜLBEN ERGEN'S PROGRAM RESURFACED
After the development in the case, footage from the television program Güllü had appeared on years ago with her children drew attention again. On the program, Güllü had been a guest of Gülben Ergen along with her daughter Tuğyan and son Tuğberk Yağız. During the program, Güllü and Gülben Ergen said that Tuğyan had a beautiful voice and asked her to sing. However, Tuğyan declined the offer, saying she was embarrassed and could not sing without music. Her brother Yağız, however, teased her by saying that his older sister sang comfortably outside.
THE MESSAGE: MY MOTHER AND I ARE LIKE FRIENDS AND CONFIDANTS
In the street interview prepared for the program, the two siblings were asked about their relationship with their mother. Tuğyan said that she and Güllü did not have only a classic mother-daughter relationship, but were each other's friends and confidants. She stated that they shared everything with each other. Yağız also said that his mother was a little fonder of his older sister than of him, and that Güllü and Tuğyan were closer to each other. While these accounts contain striking details about past family relationships, they do not by themselves constitute evidence regarding the accusations in the case.
THEY TALKED ABOUT THE DAYS THEY SPENT WITH THEIR MOTHER
The two siblings also mentioned the activities they did with their mother in the interview. The siblings, who said they went to the cinema, traveled around, and played ball, noted that Güllü enjoyed cooking, going on family picnics, and fishing. Tuğyan, who had been hesitant to sing in the studio, sang a song during the street interview.
THEY TOLD THEIR MOTHER, 'I'M GLAD YOU EXIST'
At the end of the interview, Tuğyan and Yağız expressed that they loved their mother very much and that nothing could replace her. The two siblings sent Güllü the message, 'I'm glad you exist.'
