The olive harvest has begun in Aydın, the province with the largest number of olive trees in Turkey. Olive harvesting, which was once considered men's work and done using the beating method, has begun to be carried out by women using the combing method.
COMBS REPLACED POLES
Harvesting of table olives has begun in irrigable lands in the plain areas of Aydın. To avoid negatively affecting quality, instead of using poles and beating machines, producers harvest with olive combs. In the past, olive harvesting from trees was done by men because using poles required strength, while in harvesting done using combs, women are mostly preferred.
DAILY 1000 TL
