Hiranur Dereli, a 19-year-old university student who was subjected to a fist attack by an individual while walking on the street in Eskişehir, described the moments of horror. Stating that she was victimized by falling onto her arm before the KPSS exam she will take tomorrow, Dereli said, "A fist landed on my head, and I was thrown about 1 meter forward."

In the incident that occurred at Sıhhiye Square in Tunalı Neighborhood of Tepebaşı district, a person who was trying to stop vehicles in traffic and attacking citizens in front of an ATM then punched 19-year-old university student Hiranur Dereli, who was walking on the street, and knocked her to the ground.

Police teams dispatched to the area upon notification quickly caught the suspect who was trying to flee and detained him. It was learned that the health condition of Hiranur Dereli, who was injured as a result of the attack, is good, while the investigation into the incident continues in multiple directions.

HE CAME RUNNING WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING

Anadolu University Political Science student Hiranur Dereli, describing the moment of the attack and the minutes of fear she experienced, said, "I left home around 09:00 in the morning. I was going to my school's swimming pool to swim. My home was 5 minutes away from there. While crossing the road where both the tram line and vehicles pass, I was struck by a person I did not know. A fist landed on my head and I was thrown about 1 meter forward, toward the ground. Right now my arm, head and eye are swollen; I have difficulty opening my eye and my hip is also swollen. The person did not say anything to me, he came running directly. I could not understand the situation much because I was looking around at that moment; if I had understood, I would have stepped aside. With the shock of that moment, I could not do anything. My glasses flew off, and thinking that the person would attack me from behind, since I could not see, I stood up and started screaming. Because it was a tram line, with the thought 'Maybe people will come' and screaming in sudden shock, people around ran to help. I had earphones in my ear, and he hit right toward that area. Most likely I fell in that direction. The earphone in my ear hurt the inside of my ear. He threw me toward that side and then ran away. I do not know how the person was caught; I was only informed that he was caught by the police."

I FELL ON THE ARM I WRITE WITH

Stating that she experienced great victimization before the KPSS due to the attack, Dereli said, "The KPSS was tomorrow and I was preparing for it. In fact, I am currently having difficulty speaking. Because I had pain, injections and so on were also given. Since I fell on the arm I write with, I most likely will not be able to take the exam; I am in a victimized situation. Of course, I want the person to be punished. Attacking a stranger on the street is a very bad thing. Others also pass by on the street, but the person probably attacks women. He also damaged the cars around. I really cannot tolerate violence falling to these levels, and I want this person to be punished."
