Peter Lim, the Singaporean owner who holds a 91.5% stake in Valencia, one of Spain's historic teams that has anchored itself at the bottom of La Liga, is selling the club.

WANTS 350-400 MILLION EUROS

A company specialized in the buying and selling of football clubs has conducted an analysis for Valencia and stated that Peter Lim is willing to sell the club after serving for 10 years at Mestalla. Diario AS reported that they have accessed a document revealing that Lim is asking for 350-400 million euros for the club and his stake in it.

HAS NOT WATCHED THE TEAM FOR 6 YEARS

Valencia fans have wanted to oust Peter Lim and the Meriton Holdings group, who have owned the club for the last 10 years. When Peter Lim became the new owner of Valencia in October 2014, fans hoped that the Singaporean businessman would rescue the club from an unstable financial position caused by years of excessive spending, and they welcomed Lim's arrival with joy. However, as the years went by, it became clear that maintaining a good relationship with the club's fans was never high on Lim's list of priorities. Peter Lim has not attended any of Valencia's matches from the stands since December 2018.

340 MILLION EUROS IN DEBT

The analysis regarding Valencia detailed that at least 150 million euros need to be invested to complete the Nou Mestalla Stadium, and it was noted that Lim has invested 290 million euros in the club during his presidency. Additionally, it was reported that the Spanish team has a debt of 340 million euros.

AT LEAST 500 MILLION EUROS REQUIRED

Investors wishing to buy the club will need to set aside at least 500 million euros, in addition to the money they will pay Peter Lim for his shares, along with the investment required to move Valencia to the new stadium. On the other hand, 15 players in the Spanish team's 25-man squad will have their contracts expire within the next 2 years. Therefore, new investors purchasing the club will also need to allocate a budget for new transfers to the team.

VALENCIA AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE

Valencia is going through tough times in La Liga, having completed 10 weeks. During this period, the team has recorded 1 win, 3 draws, and 6 losses, placing them at the bottom of the league with 6 points.
