In the announcement published on the Ministry's social media accounts under the title "Press Statement on the Reinstatement of Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit," attention was drawn to the latest developments in the judicial process. The statement recalled the decision of the Seferihisar Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated July 22, 2026, and noted that measures were imposed on Yiğit, including judicial control, a ban on leaving the country, and a requirement to sign at the nearest law enforcement unit to his residence.

In the continuation of the statement, it was expressed that following the issuance of these judicial control decisions, Onur Yiğit was reinstated to his post with the approval of the Ministry of Interior, in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution.
