In Amasya, Beşiktaş supporter greengrocer Turan Aykurt had announced that he would distribute 5 tons of watermelon if Mohamed Salah transferred to Beşiktaş. Despite Salah transferring to Trabzonspor, Aykurt kept his word by distributing 500 kilos of watermelon. During the distribution, citizens were given free watermelon, and Aykurt said, 'If he had come to Beşiktaş, we would have distributed 5 tons.'
Turan Aykurt, a Beşiktaş fan who works as a greengrocer in the city, announced on his social media account during the transfer period that he would distribute 5 tons of watermelon if Muhammed Salah transferred to Beşiktaş.
SALAH WENT TO TRABZONSPOR
However, Trabzonspor transferred Salah. Despite this, Aykurt reduced the amount to 500 kilograms and distributed the watermelons for free. He hung a sign reading 'Muhammed Salah charity' on the stall with the watermelons he placed in front of his workplace. Many citizens received free watermelons during the distribution, which drew attention in a short time. The watermelon distribution also created colorful scenes. Aykurt, stating that his love for Beşiktaş is independent of the transfer outcome, said he did not want to go back on his word.
"WE KEPT OUR WORD AGAIN"
Turan Aykurt, stating that he really wanted Muhammed Salah to transfer to Beşiktaş, said, "I wish he had come to us, but he didn't. Hopefully, we will meet in heaven. If he had come to Beşiktaş, we would have distributed 5 tons of watermelon. He didn't come to Beşiktaş; he came to Trabzonspor, but we still kept our word and distributed 500 kilograms of watermelon. We had promised in case Muhammed Salah came to Beşiktaş. Our social media post caused a huge reaction. Then we distributed watermelons for our people to eat. Enjoy your meal."
"CITIZENS BENEFITED"
Celil İnce, one of the citizens who participated in the watermelon distribution, reminded that Aykurt had given his word on social media and said, "Our brother Turan really wanted Muhammed Salah to come to Beşiktaş and had promised to distribute watermelons for this. Even though the transfer happened to Trabzonspor, he did not go back on his word. It was nice of him to do such a charity. The citizens also benefited from it."
