CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, emphasizing that he will not step back from the struggle during his event in Çorum, said, 'Let those who turn around do so, I will not turn. As long as you do not turn from your path, I will not turn from this path either. If necessary, I will give this head, but I will not bow down to them.'
The tension between Kılıçdaroğlu and Özel continues following the "absolute nullity" decision against the Republican People's Party (CHP). CHP Parliamentary Group Leader Özgür Özel stated that they will not back down from the struggle.
Özgür Özel came to Çorum to attend the '1st International Alevi Studies Congress' and 'Rıza Şehri Canlar Meeting' programs. Özel was welcomed with flowers at the Hacı Bektaş Veli Anatolian Cultural Foundation building by Foundation President Ercan Geçmez, Çorum Branch President Nurettin Aksoy, CHP Provincial President Dinçer Solmaz, and many party members.
Özel, claiming that their party is targeted by various operations, threats, and blackmail, said they will not step back from the struggle, stating, "Let those who turn turn, I will not turn. As long as you do not turn from your path, I will not turn from this path either. If necessary, I will give this head, but I will not bow to them."

Özel noted that the ongoing process is not just an internal matter of the CHP, saying, "This issue is not an internal matter of the Republican People's Party. This matter is between the palace regime and the nation. This is a plot, and you, dear ones, will overcome this plot. I said I would not step back from the struggle. I stand firmly behind my word. We set out on a path. When we were forced out of our headquarters, when our members of parliament were tear-gassed, leaving all evils behind, we returned to the Parliament founded by Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and continued on our way. We derive this strength from your attitude of standing by us. That's why I love you all very much."
