In the march that started in front of the Alsancak Türkan Saylan Cultural Center, Özel accompanied the procession by positioning himself two rows behind the journalists. Participants marched toward Gündoğdu Square. During the march, a citizen came up to Özel and wanted to speak with him. However, Özel was seen pushing the citizen toward the back rows of the procession. What happened was recorded by cameras in the area.
Meanwhile, the march organized for press workers ended with pens being left at the Zübeyde Hanım Monument in Gündoğdu Square.
