Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and DEM Party Van Deputy Pervin Buldan announced that her lawyer, Bişar Alınak, has applied to the Bureau for Investigation of Unsolved Murders within the Ministry of Justice, requesting that the murders of Savaş Buldan, Adnan Yıldırım, and Hacı Karay be investigated in all aspects and that those responsible be identified and brought before judicial authorities.

In a statement on her social media account, Vice Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and DEM Party Van Deputy Pervin Buldan said, "Today, our lawyer Bişar Alınak has applied to the Unsolved Murder Investigation Bureau within the Ministry of Justice, requesting a comprehensive investigation into the murders of Savaş Buldan, Adnan Yıldırım, and Hacı Karay, the uncovering of the political and organizational connections behind the incident, and the identification and prosecution of those responsible."
"LEGAL PROCESS WILL BE FOLLOWED"
Stating that the case is not merely a matter of the past, Buldan noted the following:
"This is a case that must be evaluated in the context of unsolved political murders and the practice of impunity in Turkey's recent history. As a requirement of the rule of law, such incidents must be effectively investigated, and the material truth must be revealed. The legal process will be followed to ensure the effective conduct of the investigation into the murders of Savaş Buldan, Adnan Yıldırım, and Hacı Karay, the identification of those responsible, and their prosecution."
BACKGROUND OF THE MURDERS
Savaş Buldan, Adnan Yıldırım, and Hacı Karay were detained on June 2, 1994, by eight individuals with police identification, police vests, and radios from the Çınar Hotel in Yeşilyurt, Istanbul. The lifeless bodies of the three were found on June 4, 1994, near the Melen Creek in Yığılca district of Bolu.
While it was reported that signs of torture were found on the bodies of Buldan, Yıldırım, and Karay, the perpetrators of the murders have not been brought to justice despite the years that have passed. Numerous unsolved murders were committed in the 1990s.
In the legal process announced by Buldan, there are demands for a new investigation into the background of the murders of Savaş Buldan, Adnan Yıldırım, and Hacı Karay, the uncovering of political and organizational connections, and the prosecution of those responsible.
