Pervin Buldan, the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly from the DEM Party, made a statement regarding the "Terror-Free Türkiye" process. Buldan said that a new draft law will be introduced after the holiday. Stating that it is being considered to issue the draft, which is planned to consist of 7-8 articles, on a one-time basis, Buldan noted that members of the PKK terrorist organization could travel to Türkiye or other countries within a specific time period.

DEM Party Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Pervin Buldan said regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, "This process is too urgent to be prolonged. The legal framework needs to be established as soon as possible."

Buldan attended a holiday greeting program organized by the DEM Party and DBP provincial organizations in Van. In her speech there, Buldan stated that a new draft law would come to the agenda after the holiday, saying that "Turkey will enter a new process."

BULDAN: NEW DRAFT LAW IS BEING PREPARED

Speaking at the event held at the party building, Buldan recalled that they had a 3-hour meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on Imralı on May 24, saying, "I brought you greetings from Mr. Öcalan. His health is good, and his faith in the process is strong. He stated that he is making intense efforts for the progress of the process."

Buldan stated that one of the most important topics in the meeting was the preparation of a new law, saying that Öcalan emphasized a "root law." Expressing that the regulation to be prepared will pave the way for the democratization process, Buldan noted that the draft law is planned to consist of 7-8 articles.

"ONE-TIME ONLY"

Stating that the regulation in question is being evaluated to be enacted "one-time only," Buldan said that members of the organization who will benefit from the law can come and go to Turkey or other countries within a certain period of time.

Buldan stated that they will begin intense political contacts after the holiday and said they will take initiatives to bring the draft law to the agenda before the Parliament closes. Buldan said, "This process is too urgent to be prolonged. The legal framework needs to be established as soon as possible."

Stating that after the draft is prepared, democratization and reform packages will also come to the agenda, Buldan expressed that the expectations of detainees in prisons and broad segments of society are in this direction.

"THE PROCESS WILL SOON TAKE SHAPE"

Drawing attention to developments in the Middle East, Buldan said that what is happening to Kurds and the opposition in the region is "unacceptable." Stating that ensuring the legal guarantee of the peace and democratic solution process is everyone's common expectation, Buldan said, "This process will soon take shape."

Buldan also conveyed that Abdullah Öcalan called on the public, democratic mass organizations, and societal segments to "embrace the process," saying that everyone should take responsibility in this process.

At the end of her speech, Buldan stated that after the planned law is enacted, a new era could begin not only in Turkey but across the entire Middle East.
