In the İzmit district of Kocaeli, plaster fell from the kitchen ceiling of a two-story house, causing panic. A family of five preparing food narrowly escaped disaster at the last moment because they were not in the kitchen during the incident. Following an investigation by teams dispatched to the area upon notification, the family was placed in a municipal guesthouse.
Plaster fell from the kitchen ceiling of the first floor of a two-story house located on Sadettin Yalım Street in Kocaeli's İzmit district. The family cooking was fortunately not in the kitchen, preventing a disaster.
THEY IMMEDIATELY RAN OUT AND NOTIFIED THE TEAMS
The family of 5, noticing the situation, immediately ran out and notified the teams. Upon the report, police, fire department, AFAD, UMKE, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Teams arriving at the area cordoned off the region with security tape.
FAMILY OF 5 EVACUATED
Following the inspections, the family of 5 living in the lower unit of the upper floor was taken to Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's guesthouse. It was also observed that one person in the family was in a wheelchair.
"THANK GOD NO ONE WAS IN THE KITCHEN"
Describing the events, homeowner Armağan Orman said, "Food was cooking in the kitchen, and we were sitting inside. Suddenly there was a noise. Thank God no one was in the kitchen." Teams are continuing their work in the area.
