The Polish government announced that two Turkish citizens linked to the fire at the Starlink station have been detained in Germany. It was stated that the fire is believed to be sabotage by Russian services.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the fire that broke out at a Starlink station in Wola Krobowska, part of Poland's Grojec district, on September 24. The Polish government, reporting that two Turkish citizens were detained in Germany in connection with the fire, stated that they believe Russia is behind the incident.
The fire at the Starlink station in central Poland affected the facility's power system and backup generator. The Polish government had stated that they believe the fire was an act of sabotage aimed at disrupting internet services, including those of the Ukrainian army.
"WE HAVE NO DOUBT THAT RUSSIAN SERVICES ARE BEHIND THE SABOTAGE"
In a press conference, Tomasz Siemoniak, the Coordinator of Special Services in the Polish government, responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and operationally monitoring intelligence and security agencies, said, "We have no doubt that Russian services are behind this act of sabotage. It should also be added that Russian services are increasingly turning to individuals linked to the underground criminal world."
Elon Musk activated Starlink services throughout Ukraine in 2022 after Kyiv's appeal for help in the first days of Russia's large-scale invasion. Poland had previously announced that it paid Ukraine's Starlink subscription fee.
