President Erdoğan: Criminal types should not be roaming the streets; those with dozens of criminal records will be tried in detention.

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements regarding the agenda at his party's parliamentary group meeting.

Erdoğan said, "It is our duty to eliminate the perception of impunity. In certain crimes, the execution of sentences will begin after serving 10% of the imposed sentence in prison. For example, the path will be opened for someone with 5 criminal records to be tried while in detention without waiting for the conclusion of other cases and the recording of the criminal record. The duration of detention will be determined in proportion to the crimes committed by the individual and the penalties they will receive. This will apply to certain crimes that hurt the conscience of society," he said.
