After the cabinet meeting, President Erdogan, speaking before the cameras, gave a clear response to the opposition's criticisms over the playing of the Mehter march at the NATO summit. Erdogan stated, "Those disturbed by the Mehter march, whether you accept it or not, there is no longer a Turkey that rejects its heritage. The Republic of Turkey has a past filled with glory and honor."
