With the decision published in the Official Gazette under President Erdogan's signature, changes were made to the academic structures of some universities. While new faculties and institutes were established at two universities, 4 academic units were closed. The names of some faculties and institutes at Batman, Gebze Technical, and Sakarya Applied Sciences universities were also changed.
With the decree signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and published in the Official Gazette, new faculties and institutes were established at some universities. Within the scope of the decision, some academic units were closed, while the names of some faculties and institutes were also changed.
NEW UNITS ESTABLISHED AT TWO UNIVERSITIES
According to the decision, the Institute of Graduate Studies was established within the body of Turkish International Islamic, Science and Technology University.
Within the body of Yildiz Technical University, the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Sciences was established.
4 ACADEMIC UNITS CLOSED
Within the scope of the regulation, it was also decided to close some existing academic units. The Institute of Natural Sciences, Institute of Health Sciences, and Institute of Social Sciences located within the body of Turkish International Islamic, Science and Technology University were closed.
The Faculty of Applied Sciences within Yildiz Technical University was also among the closed units.
NAME CHANGES AT 3 UNIVERSITIES
With the presidential decree, the names of faculties and institutes at three universities were also changed.
The name of the Faculty of Islamic Studies within Batman University was changed to the Faculty of Theology.
The Institute of Information Technologies within Gebze Technical University will henceforth operate under the name of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence.
The new name of the Faculty of Applied Sciences within Sakarya University of Applied Sciences became the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences.

Thus, with the decree published under President Erdogan's signature, a series of regulations concerning the establishment, closure, and name changes in the academic structuring of universities were implemented.
