President Erdoğan: We hope to announce new good news in 2025.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan published a video message for the new year. In his message, Erdoğan stated, "Today we bid farewell to 2024, and we welcome the year 2025 with new hopes, expectations, and dreams."

Throughout the past year, Erdoğan commemorated all the martyrs who fell for independence and future with mercy and expressed his gratitude to the veterans.

"WE WILL BECOME EVEN CLOSER TO EACH OTHER"

Erdoğan said, "As a nation, in 2025, we will hopefully strengthen our unity, solidarity, and togetherness even more, and we will become even closer to each other." He noted that the year 2024 witnessed many critical developments both within Turkey and in the region, and continued:

"We successfully held the local elections in an atmosphere of a true democracy festival, demonstrating the maturity of Turkish democracy to the whole world. While the will of our nation freely manifested at the ballot box, the winner was again our democracy along with all 85 million citizens. Regardless of their preferences, I would like to thank my citizens once again today who turned the polling stations into a celebration."

"WE HAVE ACHIEVED VERY IMPORTANT SUCCESSES"

Emphasizing that they have started to reap the fruits of the economic program they have implemented with determination despite the elections and new crises that erupted in the region, Erdoğan stated, "We have achieved very important successes in employment, exports, production, tourism, defense industry, and other areas. We have made significant progress in our efforts to rebuild the earthquake-affected regions. In the new year, these efforts will accelerate even further."

"WE WILL COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS OF WELFARE"

Pointing out that the decrease in inflation, especially in the last months of the year, confirms that the goals for 2025 will be reached, Erdoğan said: "We will focus on policies that will compensate for the loss of welfare of our citizens and increase their purchasing power, and hopefully, we will reach better places. We will continue our struggle against opportunists who have their eyes on the people's bread with exorbitant prices, especially in housing, rent, and food, with determination in 2025."

I especially urge my citizens not to give in to populist rhetoric that has imposed very heavy costs on Turkey in the past. Just as we have solved all the issues of this country and nation in the last 22 years, we will also overcome the conjunctural difficulties in the economy. We are on the right path. With God's permission, we will also reach our goals. We only ask for a little more patience, resilience, and understanding from you."

"WE WILL PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY SUPPORT FOR PERMANENT PEACE IN SYRIA"

Noting that the last weeks of 2024 mark the spark of a new era in Syria, which has deep historical, human, and neighborly relations, Erdoğan stated, "We will provide all necessary support to open the door to permanent peace, tranquility, stability, and economic prosperity in Syria. As the environment of stability takes root in Syria, I believe that the voluntary return of Syrian refugees who have been longing for their homeland for 13 years will also become easier. During this time, I thank all my citizens who have exhibited the most beautiful examples of being a supportive nation."

"WE ARE WORKING HARD TO END THE MASSACRES"

Pointing out that Turkey has been the country that has given the strongest response to the massacres in Gaza from the very first day and has displayed a conscientious and just stance on every platform, Erdoğan said, "We are making intense efforts to end the massacres that have been ongoing for 15 months in Gaza and other Palestinian territories and to establish peace here. We will work with all our strength in 2025 for the establishment of a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders, which has freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."

"OUR WISH IS FOR A NEW ERA TO BEGIN IN OUR NORTH IN 2025"

Erdoğan stated, "Ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, both of which are our neighbors from the Black Sea, with a just peace continues to be our priority. Our wish is for a new era to begin in our north in 2025."
