In the major investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Anatolian Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the drug trade carried out through entertainment venues in Kadıköy was uncovered one by one. While operations were launched targeting 12 separate addresses, it was learned that detention orders were issued for 107 suspects.
In the operations conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department Narcotics Division teams, it was determined that some nightclubs and commercial establishments in Kadıköy had turned into hubs for drug sales.
CUSTOMER DENSITY IS INTENTIONALLY USED
As a result of technical and physical surveillance, it was established that customers arriving at entertainment venues were directly supplied with narcotics, and these venues were found to be operating as distribution bases for drug trafficking.
Among the targeted businesses were alcohol sales outlets, women's hair salons, jewelry shops, and food establishments, and it was revealed that the customer density in these places was deliberately used as a cover by drug dealers.
THEY DISGUISE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES WITH THE CROWDS IN THE VENUES
Information obtained within the scope of the investigation indicated that street-level drug peddlers had become part of this system, and the interiors and surroundings of the establishments had turned into areas where drug trafficking was actively carried out.
Judicial sources noted the existence of a broad organizational structure involving business owners, responsible managers, and employees, and it was determined that the crowds and activity in these venues were skillfully used to conceal illegal activities.
OPERATIONS WERE CONDUCTED AT 12 VENUES
In line with the findings, the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued an operation decision targeting a total of 12 venues, including 8 nightclubs and 4 different businesses.
DETENTION DECISIONS FOR 107 INDIVIDUALS
Within this scope, instructions for detention, search, and seizure were issued for a total of 107 suspects, including business owners, employees, and individuals identified as being involved in drug trafficking in the area.
Judicial sources emphasize that the operation process against drug networks operating under the guise of entertainment in Kadıköy will be carried out with determination.
